Our Team

We are a team of four students from Deakin University completing the Community Science Project subject, which is a core unit of the Bachelor of Science degree. We had the opportunity to choose between several projects ultimately engaging with the Nanotechnology activities for schools project – headed by Dr Peta White.

This choice was made after some general research that enlightened us as to how pervasive nanotechnology is in society making it all the more interesting and relevant to learn about and communicate to others.

Our team members who had the opportunity to work with our client and prominent researchers in the field are:

Hayley Wilson

I am a third year bachelor of science degree student majoring in natural history and human biology.

My interests include understanding the physical world and communicating this in detail to others to inspire them.

I’m a third year student at Deakin University currently undertaking the double degree; Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Science. My major and minor sequences are chemistry and biology, respectively.

I believe nanotechnology is vital in bringing about advances in science that give rise to many opportunities of scientific inquiry.

I'm a third year student at Deakin University, currently doing a double degree. It is a Masters of teaching/Bachelor of science degree. I am doing a major in animal biology and a minor in maths.

I am interested in the possible benefits, inventions and ideas that can come from nanotechnology. However the potential harms, and drawbacks of this new field are also a concern to me. Either way it will be interesting to see what nanotechnology brings in the future.

I'm a third year student at Deakin University, currently doing a double degree. Bachelors of Science and Commerce. Majoring in Biology and Commercial Law.

I am interested in the future applications of nanotechnology and the development of new regulations for the emerging field.
